I-Fit Ergonomic Management Software
For the first time ever, management can be assured that recommended
ergonomic settings in the computer intensive workplace will be exactly and
precisely replicated each time an individual user logs on to the network.
There is no training or user motivation required for consistent and accurate positioning.
User Features
Designed for Microsoft Windows 98 through Windows XP -
Users can
automatically adjust tables to their individual optimum settings for seated
or standing working postures with a simple click of the mouse.
Users can
occupy any workstation on the network, and their individual optimum settings
will be applied automatically from the network database. There is no
practical limit to the number of users on the network.
A color coding
scheme identifies optimum positions:
 |
A green icon indicates an acceptable position. |
 |
The range of adjustment positions are indicated by a yellow icon. |
 |
Positions outside of the acceptable range are designated with a red icon. |
Management Features
In the past, an investment in adjustable height ergonomic tables or desks
for the computer intensive workplace relied exclusively on user training and
motivation to realize potential benefits. Positioning had to be initiated by
the user and retention of training was critical. Often users would
incorrectly adjust equipment, potentially exacerbating rather than mitigating
the problem.
This lack of
management control always resulted in a major reduction of users who would
benefit from ergonomic engineering. Consequently, the potential for the
organization to realize their anticipated return on investment was
significantly diminished.
I-Fit®
Software provides management control of ergonomic settings, from an
individual user to a multi location call center with an unlimited number
of workstations.
The I-Fit®
software program records table usage by each individual user based on log-on
name and password. This provides a comprehensive record of individual activities
on a time scale basis. Records are logged in an Access®1 database and can be
customized to meet specific requirements.
Management
Benefits
Management control over use of ErgoPower® adjustable ergonomic workstations
means the potential exists for 100% of users to be positioned correctly whenever
they are logged on the network. Correct (least stressful) positioning combined
with regular changes from sit to stand has the following major benefits:
1. Table
Position Benefits
-
Improved
concentration and productivity can result from improved blood flow,
facilitated by regular changes in posture which helps to avoid blood
pooling and static loading of the muscles.
-
Reduced
potential for upper extremity musculoskeletal injuries can result from
"neutral alignment" of wrists and natural position of arms and
shoulders:
. Fewer workers compensation claims
. Fewer lost days to injuries
. Reduced requirement for "light duty"
alternative tasks
. Reduced requirement for retraining of replacement personnel
2. Human
Resources Support Benefits
I-Fit® Software supports Human Resources Departments in recruiting,
rehabilitation, and return to work.
-
Recruiting and
employee retention are enhanced in an environment where the employer
provides a workplace tailored to each individual, and is perceived to truly
care about the health and well-being of their people.
-
Rehabilitation
is enhanced by the ability to adjust the work postures to accommodate back
and upper extremity musculoskeletal injuries and to make frequent changes
required to minimize stress on injuries.
-
Earlier return
to work can happen when maximum adjustment capabilities accommodate a wide
variety of physical sizes and medical needs.
3. Report
Module Benefits
Reporting and monitoring capabilities of I-Fit® ergonomic management
software, document user activity and enhance management's ability to maximize
their most important and costly asset, their people!
-
Exception
Reports, which identify users working outside of recommended settings, are
useful for counseling employees and explaining the rationale of the
organization's desire to provide the safest least stressful work
environment while protecting the employees' physical well-being.
-
Historical
usage reports identify each user's work habits on a daily basis and can be
used for Human Resources counseling activities and as defense in litigation
regarding workers compensation issues.
-
Real time on
screen reports are accessible to supervisors or administrators and will
identify any user who is out of compliance with recommended settings at a
specific point in time.
